De-risking small ​business and ​agriculture loans in ​Malawi

A $5 million loan portfolio guaranty in ​partnership with USAID/Malawi is helping ​NBS Bank increase lending to micro and ​small businesses across Malawi with a ​strong focus on lending in the agriculture, ​clean cooking, fishery, and sustainable ​forestry sectors.

Investing in ​entrepreneurs in ​Nepal

A $2.5 million loan portfolio guaranty in ​collaboration with USAID/Nepal is e​nabling Laxmi Sunrise Bank to expand l​ending to small and medium-sized e​nterprises and farmers and launch an a​griculture lending program for areas r​avaged by the 2015 earthquake.

Supporting the ​businesses that keep ​Ukraine working

Two loan portfolio guaranties worth a total ​of $35 million to Bank Lviv – a major ​commercial bank in Western Ukraine – are ​delivering immediate support to Ukrainian ​small businesses, including women-owned ​businesses and smallholder farmers.

The guaranteed loans will help small busines​ses remain open, providing employme​nt, maintaining trade linkages, and support​ing the econom​y.
